Overall Rating: (5/5)
Nestled in a modest house-like building on Roswell Road, Buttermilk Kitchen has earned its reputation as one of Atlanta’s most beloved brunch havens. You’ll want to arrive early—like an hour ahead—to add your name to the waitlist and ensure you don’t miss out. After many visits, I can confidently say this place never disappoints: every dish arrives fast, tastes amazing, and embodies that perfect blend of comfort and creativity.
Buttermilk Kitchen is hands-down one of my favorite breakfast and brunch spots in Atlanta. I’ve been plenty of times, and it never disappoints. The food is always amazing, fresh, and comes out surprisingly fast considering how busy they usually are.
This place is popular—so popular that if you want a table, you should plan to arrive at least an hour early to put your name down. Reservations aren’t required, but if you don’t have one, be prepared to wait (we’ve waited over an hour before).
From the outside, Buttermilk Kitchen looks like a cozy little house. Inside, it’s a small building with limited seating, but they do offer both indoor and outdoor options. The atmosphere is charming and warm, and the staff has always been friendly and attentive during my visits.
Parking is the biggest downside. The lot in front and back is small, spaces are tight, and it fills up quickly. There is free parking, but it’s limited—sometimes you’ll need to park across the street. If you can, plan ahead or ride-share to avoid the hassle.
Everything on the menu is à la carte, so your bill can add up quickly, but the quality and flavor make it worth every penny. This is truly a hidden gem in Atlanta, and if anyone asks me for brunch recommendations, this is always at the top of my list.
Pros: Amazing food, friendly staff, charming atmosphere
Cons: Long waits, tight parking, à la carte pricing
Buttermilk Kitchen feels like a cozy breakfast alcove, with just enough charm to feel intimate yet bustling enough to radiate energy. With a small footprint, the building accommodates both indoor and outdoor seating—perfect for sunlit mornings or crisp brunching vibes. It’s casual, inviting, and always buzzing.
The staff here consistently hit the sweet spot: warm, friendly, and efficient. Whether it’s explaining menu items, managing the lines with grace, or turning around dishes quickly, they keep the experience smooth—even when the place is packed.
It’s à la carte, so your bill can climb quickly—but the quality and satisfaction make it worth every penny. You get top-tier brunch in generous portions, served swiftly. For the brunch experience here, the prices are fair.
Buttermilk Kitchen is brunch perfection—unpretentious, flavorful, and reliably excellent. It’s perfect for solo mornings, weekend catch-ups, or any time you crave down-home, elevated comfort food. Yes, you might wait and hunt for parking—but those golden biscuits, savory omelets, and warm vibes are absolutely worth it.
