Yebo Beach Haus in Buckhead — coastal chic with serious South African flavor. Photo: The Foodies Haven.
“Yebo” means yes in South Africa, and after one night of mussels, ostrich-laced tagliatelle, and a server who knew the menu cold, I said yes to absolutely everything. Here’s the full, unfiltered breakdown.
I’m an Aquarius, which means I am deeply, chronically suspicious of hype. I need to see it, taste it, and judge it with my own two eyes before I believe a single whisper about a restaurant. So when people kept whispering about a South African inspired beach spot tucked into Buckhead called Yebo Beach Haus, my curiosity (and my skepticism) both got the best of me. I went. I am no longer skeptical. I am, in fact, obsessed.
Let’s start here because it matters. The word “Yebo” literally means “yes” or “I agree” in South Africa, and honestly? That might be the single most accurate restaurant name I have ever encountered in my entire food-blogging life. All night long I kept nodding along like, “Yes. Yes to this bread. Yes to this pasta. Yes to another cocktail. Just yes. Yes! Yes!” I am not the type of person who throws around the phrase “favorite restaurant” lightly — I love to eat, sure, but I am also extremely picky. If I’m paying for dinner, I need the food to taste like somebody in that kitchen put their whole foot in it (figuratively, of course). Yebo cleared that bar before the bread basket even hit the table.
“Yebo” means yes — and that’s basically my entire review in one word. Yes to the food. Yes to the vibe. Yes to coming back again and again.
The moment I walked in, I felt like I’d stepped onto the set of a beachy lifestyle magazine spread. Think coastal chic — whitewashed wood, warm lighting, and just the right amount of “I go on yachts on the weekends but I still drink beer out of the bottle” energy. It’s polished without being precious, and that balance is honestly hard to pull off.
The music is a vibe — upbeat, a little jazzy, a little Afro house, and somehow chill all at once. The kind of playlist that makes you want to order oysters and immediately text your group chat, “this place is cute, we’re coming here next time.” You’ll spot a little bit of everyone here too: couples on a cute romantic date night, big groups passing plates around like a family reunion, and solo diners holding it down at the bar proving you don’t need a plus-one for good food. However you roll in, you will not feel out of place.
Coastal chic on the walls, big flavor on the plate.
Date nights, group dinners, solo bar seating, anyone craving a mini vacation

Splurge pricing — this is a celebration spot, not a casual Tuesday stop
Service makes or breaks a restaurant for me, but the food has to actually back it up — and at Yebo, it does. This menu takes South African flavors and runs them straight into coastal Italian comfort, and somehow it never feels confused. Every dish has a point of view.
| Mussels | $22 |
| Frittura Mista | $22 |
| Arugula Salad | $12 |
| Halibut | $40 |
| Braised Short Rib | $45 |
| Bolognese Tagliatelle | $36 |
Seriously — don’t argue with me on this one. These are a non-negotiable order every single time. Plump, briny, swimming in a broth you’ll want to mop up with every piece of bread on the table.
Mussels — the dish I will fight someone over.
The ostrich is what makes this dish unforgettable, and yes, I just typed the word “ostrich” in a pasta review, and yes, I meant it. It’s rich, deeply savory, and adds a layer of South African personality to a classic Italian comfort dish that you genuinely won’t find anywhere else in Atlanta.
Bolognese Tagliatelle with ostrich — unlike anything else on an Atlanta menu.
Flaky, perfectly cooked, and seasoned with enough confidence to stand on its own without drowning in sauce. A clean, elegant plate that proves the kitchen knows restraint when restraint is called for.
Halibut, plated with quiet confidence.
Fall-apart tender, deeply comforting, and rich in that “I might need a nap after this” kind of way. A great option for the table if someone’s not in a seafood mood.
Braised Short Rib — bring a nap plan.
Service makes or breaks a restaurant for me. You can serve me Michelin-star food, but if my water glass sits empty for too long, I start reconsidering my life choices. Luckily, Yebo has their service game completely locked in.
Our server was a gem. He knew the menu better than I know my own Netflix password — which, if you know me, is saying something. He gave us pairing suggestions, hyped up his personal favorite dishes (which we obviously ordered immediately, because peer pressure from a server who clearly loves his job is the best kind of peer pressure), and never once made us feel rushed. Everything came out at that perfect sweet-spot timing — not so fast it felt assembly-line, not so slow we started side-eyeing the kitchen.
Yes, it’s pricey. Yes, your bill might make you raise an eyebrow if you order as much as we did. But here’s the thing — it’s worth it. Every dish looked gorgeous, tasted even better, and left me already plotting when I could come back. This isn’t a “casual Tuesday night, let’s grab something quick” kind of place. It’s a “let’s treat ourselves, let’s celebrate, let’s eat food that makes us genuinely happy” kind of place. And I am always, always about that.

Yebo Beach Haus has officially stolen my foodie heart — stylish atmosphere, killer flavors, and the kind of service that makes you feel like a VIP even over a salad and a glass of wine.
