Atlanta is famous for having some of the best soul food restaurants. Although there are many to choose from, none compare to Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours. This is not your ordinary soul food restaurant. It’s an upscale black-owned soul food restaurant with an interesting twist. It’s truly unbelievable how the chef puts different foods together to make an incredible dish. My two best friends and I originally met up at a restaurant we planned to eat at, but the wait was too long. So, I decided to change the restaurant to Twisted Soul which was down the street. I ended up driving my car in case we had to pay for parking again. Anyone in Atlanta knows there’re very few places in Atlanta that provide free parking. So, to my surprise, I was shocked to find out they provide free parking that is conveniently located in the deck behind the restaurant and along the street.

I’m not exaggerating our experience from the time we walked in until we left was nothing short of amazing. As we entered the restaurant we were warmly greeted by the hostess. It was a beautiful day, so we asked to sit outside. Our waitress came to our table to greet us and gave us a brief backstory of the restaurant. Then she started the table off with a warm bread basket. The bread will melt in your mouth, and you won’t even need to add butter. The waitress impressed me knowing the menu in-depth she was able to describe each item offered on the menu. She was extremely patient and went over the signature drink menu and the main menu with us.  The portion sizes are extremely abundant and may require you to get a to-go box.

Twisted Soul is an undiscovered gem and in my opinion one of the top restaurants in Atlanta. I haven’t experienced the brunch yet but when I do I will certainly update you on my experience. We ended up coming for an early dinner which was perfect because the restaurant is known to get crowded very fast. So, it’s always best to call ahead and make a reservation before you arrive.

We started our lunch date with some complimentary cornbread and sweet potato muffin along with other appetizers that were delicious and most importantly complimentary!! My friends and I enjoyed an amazing Hoisin Oxtails, Vegetable Fried Rice, Shallot Ginger roasted Bok Choy along with a Peach Drop cocktail. We also had tasty marinated Fried Chicken, Three Cheese Macaroni, Collard Greens Garnish with Potato Apple Chutney that we washed down with a K.Berry Cocktail. The drinks here are amazing ladies and gents!! Oh yeah! Did I forget to mention the Mississippi Fried Catfish, Pimento Cheese Grits, Fried Green Tomato, Spicy Red Tartar Sauce I’m sorry but I'm a sucker for southern fried seafood. Great experience and even better food.
